Who knows how long people have been saying that a dog is a man's best friend. Why? Is it because you can chose when you want to love them and ignore them. That they are there no matter what. They chase balls and sticks when you throw them. They pay attention what your doing all the time. While I think all of those are true I learned something about dogs that is kinda unique unfortunately my dog Yoshi is ill equipped for this attribute.
This last week I went rabbit hunting with my father in law for the 2nd time. The first time I was just concerned that I didn't shoot someone or something I shouldn't. But they have a dog named Trigger. Trigger is a beagle and something inherent about them is they like to hunt. Not only hunt but dig, chase, and go places you don't want to go.
Rabbits run in circles and will eventually run back to their home which is in some brush pile. Trigger goes and chases them out, but the dog (tries) to chase them toward you. Although I didn't get a rabbit I just thought it was cool. He did chase one out in the open for me but if I shot it had a possibility of shooting a cow and barn so I didn't. Even if your not a hunter (which I am not) you should go out with dogs you will learn a new appreciation for something that is natural to them and beneficial for the hunter.

Oh honey, you are more of a hunter than even you realize. :)

It's fun to see a dog work like that. If you had shot the cow you could have had steaks. They're a lot better than rabbit stew.
So you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, huh? Good thinking!
Weren't those pug dogs developed for digging for something. or maybe that was for flying out of the sleeve of a kimono at an enemy. Well, I'm sure she's good for something. . .Yoshi and sock for instance.
mkh
Yoshi is good at snoring and smelling bad.
btw it would be awesome if you brought her for Tgiving since she's the worlds greatest baby entertainer.
