Driving in the next couple months

Did you ever notice that you are a driving gawker? When I was a young guy I pretty much looked in every window to see what people looked like. This usually took place on 4 lane high ways. The odd thing is when I looked the other driver would look back at me and it seemed ok. Well now that I am older I don't look in peoples windows when I pass them or get passed. In the next month I will make an effort to look into people's windows to see what has changed since I was 16 years old. I think people in IL are window gawkers but that is just an observation.

But I will be driving a lot. I am going to Holland, MI for a week for CIY. I am going to Louisville, KY for the North American the week after. And head to my bro's for 4th of July making a pit stop in Bedford, IN. All in 2 weeks. This is going to be fun but the drive back from IL is going to BLOW!

9-5

Over the summer I get the luxury of working 9-5. Since kids are mostly bored during the day and do stuff at night I get to get out of the office and into the street. I love it though I have all night to do whatever I want on multiple occasions. Only thing is now I have to find stuff to do at night. Either way this summer has been a blast so far doing the 9-5 and doing cookouts.

Why Childrens Ministry keep looking better and better

First off my position at the church I'm at is the Jr./Sr. High minister. That position requires requires to entertain better than online gaming, MTV, and texting/cell phone. It requires taking most night out of the week and weekends. You deal with kids who are changing dramatically who don't know who they are, where they are going, and what are they doing? Don't believe me? Ask any one of them where they are going their answer is I don't know. They form cliques and shove people out of them they don't want. In school they live in a dog eat dog society. Over half of them are scared and broken from divorce and dealing with life smacking them in the face.

Children's Ministry is easy mode. You have most of your night, weekends, and deal with them being scared of the dark. Why did I choose the position I did? I'm not really sure but Children's Ministry looks better all the time.

Except Children's Ministers are lame and Student Ministers are cool. And Jr. Sr. High kids are cool other than that..

http://www.fireproofthemovie.com/main.php

While I am not a big fan of Kirk Camron or much of any Christian films I would recommend this movie. It really is an encouragement for marriage and why you get married in the first place. It drives home that marriage can get really rough but that God and willingness to fix problems is the answer.

I'll admit acting sometimes is a bit cheesy but the story is good. They use a lot of church language but hey that is who put the movie together. If your married it is a good encouragement and I'll assume that at least for men you will find yourself agreeing with the husband and seeing where some of your thinking is flawed.

I liked it hope you do to, if you can see it in a theater i would advise doing that.

Boys are funny

Yesterday as I do every Tuesday I pick up 15 boys from the school for our after school program at the church. They always have something to complain about but it is usually that the girls ride in the white bus and boys ride in the red van. I mean the white van is cooler but I don't like driving it.

But I usually lead us to the school and always get to the church a split second faster than the girls. Every week the boys gloat, hoot, and holler about how they won or I should speed up. It is rather amusing the the 4 minute ride. Well this week I told the other driver lets have the girls win just to see what the boys would say/do. As we were leaving the school the boys were having a fit, because they were losing. So I went against my word.

We always take the same route but this time I turned on the highway and went that way. I or they didn't know if they were winning or losing but they were excited. When we got to the stop sign that intersected our normal route the girls were behind and we ended up beating them once again. It was like winning the Super Bowl for them, so as I drove to victory I sent them all in to play. Maybe I am as bad as those boys and losing is not an option. Even if the other team (bus full of girls) doesn't even know they "lost"

Who knows how long people have been saying that a dog is a man's best friend. Why? Is it because you can chose when you want to love them and ignore them. That they are there no matter what. They chase balls and sticks when you throw them. They pay attention what your doing all the time. While I think all of those are true I learned something about dogs that is kinda unique unfortunately my dog Yoshi is ill equipped for this attribute.

This last week I went rabbit hunting with my father in law for the 2nd time. The first time I was just concerned that I didn't shoot someone or something I shouldn't. But they have a dog named Trigger. Trigger is a beagle and something inherent about them is they like to hunt. Not only hunt but dig, chase, and go places you don't want to go.

Rabbits run in circles and will eventually run back to their home which is in some brush pile. Trigger goes and chases them out, but the dog (tries) to chase them toward you. Although I didn't get a rabbit I just thought it was cool. He did chase one out in the open for me but if I shot it had a possibility of shooting a cow and barn so I didn't. Even if your not a hunter (which I am not) you should go out with dogs you will learn a new appreciation for something that is natural to them and beneficial for the hunter.
